Box Tops

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to another great year at West Springfield Elementary School! For those of you who are new to our school, we collect Box Tops to earn money for different efforts such as cultural art events, academic & technological enhancements, school improvements, and field trips. Last year we set a goal to collect 15,000 box tops and we passed that goal. As a school, we collected 16,366 Box Tops, and received a check for $1,636! That is a lot of money for our school just by simply cutting out Box Tops!

Box Top coupons are on the packaging of hundreds of participating products you probably use every day. (see list of products) They are worth 10 cents each when our school redeems them from Box Tops for Education. There are two things you can do to save our volunteers hours of time. First, cut the Box Tops along the dotted lines making sure the expiration date is not cut or torn. Second, send them to school either on a Box Top collection sheet (they are available on the PTA website and will also be periodically sent home) or in a baggie with the number of Box Tops written on it.

Each quarter the classroom that collects the most Box Tops will win a party! Our first collection period will end November 3rd and the winning class will be treated to doughnuts and juice. In addition to the quarterly parties, any class who brings in over 350 Box Tops during the first and third quarters will receive a special treat. Remember to have your child turn in Box Tops directly to the collection bag located in his or her classroom.

Another easy way you can make a difference is by signing up for the Box Tops website at It’s easy, free and you will learn new ways to help our school earn extra Box Tops and bonuses. Thanks for choosing to support our school by collecting Box Tops! We know with your help we can meet our new goal of bringing in 16,500!
