Q: How do I join the PTA?

Q: Why do I need to join the PTA?

A: The PTA is a great way to support your student's education, contribute to the WSES school community and connect with other parents and educators. Your PTA membership and donations help to fund all of the amazing events and activities we manage throughout the year. We also cannot host our events without our fabulous volunteers - so we need you! 

Q: Who can join the PTA? 

A: We need you! A strong PTA needs the support of parents, family members, teachers and school staff - everyone is welcome! 

Q: Does my PTA membership expire?

A: Your PTA membership is good for the entire school year. You will need to rejoin each new school year.

Q: How can I volunteer or join a committee?

A: Please reach out to WSES PTA Vice President Meghan Lonergan (vicepresident@wsespta.org) for information on volunteering or joining a committee.

Q. Is joining the PTA a big time commitment?

A: No. If you are unable to volunteer your time, that is totally fine. But please still consider becoming a member of the PTA and give your financial support. Your PTA membership and donations help to fund all of the wonderful events and activities we run throughout the year. 

Q: If I join the PTA, does that mean I have to volunteer? 

A: While there are many volunteer opportunities available and we would love your help, you do not need to volunteer (nor are you pressured to do so) if you are not able. 

Q: Do I need to attend the PTA meetings? 

A: No, you are not required to attend any PTA meetings if you join the PTA. Although, if you are able, we would love to see you and PTA meetings are a great way to meet new people, learn more about the PTA, what's going on at the school and share your thoughts and ideas!

Q: There's a PTA Newsletter? How do I sign up? 

A: Yes! There is a weekly PTA newsletter full of information and upcoming event details. To sign up, you can click here and then under News You Choose select that you want to subscribe to "West Springfield Elementary School PTA." You can also follow us on Facebook.
